Que nous dit ce texte de la Pentecôte, à nous, amis de la mission ?
Certes, des Mèdes et des Elamites, il y en a peu, dans notre société, mais comme le suggérait Madeleine Delbrel*, il y a d’autres peuples, d’autres frontières, d’autres mondes, que nous cotoyons au quotidien…
Nos pays, nous dit-elle, ne sont pas juxtaposés, sur des cartes « en étendue », mais s’empilent les uns sur les autres, sur une carte « en épaisseur », dans la densité d’un carrefour, d’une place, à un arrêt de bus, de métro, un train de banlieue, un blablacar :
Dans nos rues, nos bus, nos voitures, personne ne vient de Cappadoce, de Mésopotamie ni de Judée, mais de mondes tout aussi éloignés : Celui du travail : bureau, usine, entreprise, ou bien de la fac, d’un foyer de retraités, de la galère.
Non, le Bon Dieu ne nous mène pas en bateau… mais même sans bateau, il nous veut missonnaire dans nos lieux de vie, professionnelle, familiale, associative, pour, à travers nous, transmettre à ceux que nous cotoyons, cet Esprit d’Amour, langage universel que chacun comprend et peut accueillir, dans la mesure où il se sent respecté, quelle que soit sa spiritualité: musulmane, juive, protestante… ou athée : l’Amour n’a pas de religion, il en est le point d’orgue.
